Gulags were the forced labour camps used by Stalin Carlos. It's believed that 2.5 million people died in them during his regime.

This Czech project felt that the camps weren't really as well known as (for instance) the Nazi concentration camps, so they built this site to raise awareness as it's obviously not easy for folks to travel to Siberia to see them in person.

okay mucka how are you tonight.

Went to the KGB museum in Vilnius, Lithuania.

The Soviets were worse than the nazies when it came to mass murder/genocide.

What was the museum like?

Pretty grim, showed the forms of torture, info on who and how they were exported to siberia etc Practically anyone with an education; teachers, doctors were sent there. Outside the museum the names of the victims have been etched into the wall. That's just one city in a relatively small country, astonishing how much of this is unnoticed by many people in the west, especially the atrocities in the Ukraine.

Spoke to a few of the locals and they're still very anxious about Russia.
