Vellios and Coleman

People are far too quick to judge Coleman's defensive attributes, Hibbert got skinned twice on saturady and still picked up the MOTM (rightly), had that been Coleman everyone would be saying he cant defend.

And his pathetic attempt at closing down against Villa would of put a schooolboy to shame. Not a dig at Hibbo but there seems to be a myth that Seamus can't defend when most of us haven't really seen him do so.

Don't recall many negative reports from his time at Blackpool and he looked ok if a little raw there for us when i've seen him. But he's never going to improve his positioning if he never plays there.

Sure he has put in a few rash tackles in silly areas for us even when playing rw but he can only learn.

I actually agree. Coleman's defensive frailties are almost a myth, as he's a good tackler (the stats back this up) and he has pace which is crucial.

However I can't believe I'm saying this, but going by our last game, Hibbo actually has a far, far better delivery. Dare I say he could be more productive from fullback if we're going to play with a big front man or two?

And people say there is no revenue plan at Everton. This is it, buy players for pennies sell them for millions.

INFINITE PROFIT.

A lot of foreign teams do this. Especially the Portuguese ones. It's not a route I'd want Everton to go down. I want to keep the players we develop

And on Coleman and Vellios, i'm genuinly excited. I really am.

You can do that "sell on for a profit" but you can't do it enmasse and you should always retain the crem-de-la-crem

So as to enable you to compete.

And doing it too much is damaging to the fan base.

Have to say vellios genuinely excites me. Where the hell do we dig these players up from?

Vellios is going to be an everton heart throb.

Both look decent players but neither are quality. Coleman will never be great imo, he's the type of player who is honest to his core i.e. there's no hidden gems of ability that he can call upon like louis can to score a goal out of nothing so we've seen everything from seamus I think unless he expands his game greatly, which to his credit he has done since he first broke into the first 18 regularly. Vellios is a player who I have only seen play for the first team so will have to wait and see how far his abilities stretch and to be fair I can't knock what I've seen although I've not been overly excited either.

Still, two asbolutely brilliant pieces of business in today's market.

Neither can do a Phil Neville stepover, PiP was talking to vellios warming up and he pointed to the far side, my bet's is he was saying,"That's where I do it"

Hilarious that he practices it before the game, exactly where he's gone do it with a shimmy, far better than Fernandes was at it.

Top shout :D

I hope you're not serious.

He's very one dimensional in his attacking game currently, he relies on pace and simply outrunning or knocking the ball past the defender. Pretty much every time he tried to dribble past a Wigan player on Saturday it went wrong. If he was really that skillful he wouldn't be our future Right Back.

Agreed. Coleman isnt a great dribbler. He is a pacy powerful player who barges past people and has great energy.

To say he is one of the best in the world at dribbling is madness!
