Player Valuation: £30m
I'm still finding it hard to believe that these two cost 150k between them, Coleman is as good a dribbler with the ball as there is out there and Vellios looks like he's full of potential to be a top centre-forward, yes they are both still ring-rusty and need bits and pieces sorted out with their respective games, but to think they are young and offering something to our squad now and i'm watching them thinking not only could they be decent but they could become real top class footballers. I cannot think of another club that brings these types of players in without spneding 10 million quid. Just look at Liverpool with henderson and Man u with Jones and Smalling, our two lads are having a similar impact (in Henderson's case a much bigger impact)and cost buttons. Well done EFC scouting and well done Davey for taking the risk. This is how EFC are going to compete at the top without spending mega bucks.

I think employ a fairly scattergun approach, in that we'll sign 3 youngsters, and 1 of those turns out to be good player who could become a very very sound purchase. Lately, Gueye, Vellios and Coleman have been making all the right noises, and are proving our strategy right. Its the only way we can compete at this level.

We've got good scouts and a great Youth Academy, shame we've got zero money for the first team or we could actually go places, but hey, them's the ropes.

When they get decent we sell them. This is the problem.

Everybody gets sold mate, except maybe Messi. Look at the top tier talent that has been sold in the last few years. Even Ronaldo got sold. It's football in the year 2011.

Having said that there's always a choice between selling someone at their highest market value or holding on getting the best out of them but keeping them maybe a bit too long where the wages don't match the production anymore.

Umm, okay other than Ronaldo, Messi and Nasri maybe.

I hope you're not serious.

He's very one dimensional in his attacking game currently, he relies on pace and simply outrunning or knocking the ball past the defender. Pretty much every time he tried to dribble past a Wigan player on Saturday it went wrong. If he was really that skillful he wouldn't be our future Right Back.

Agreed. Coleman isnt a great dribbler. He is a pacy powerful player who barges past people and has great energy.

To say he is one of the best in the world at dribbling is madness!

I wouldn't say Coleman was the best dribbler in my Sunday football team, but he's the best Gung Ho, raw talent type of a player I can remember seeing, a genius signing really. He's so direct it's crazy

Vellios only time can tell, so far so good though....the pretty bugger

nope, but some are. Mind you he can come out with an outrageous bit of skill from time to time.
