Everton winger Andy van der Meyde has been suspended from the club pending further investigation.
Andy - known by the fans as "Shandy" for fairly obvious reasons - has failed to spark in an Everton jersey amidst accusations of personal demons affecting him during the course of his tenure at Goodison Park.
It is believed the player missed a training session on Sunday and has been handed a weeks ban by the club, accompanied by a hefty fine.
It is almost certainly the end for the player as far as football at Everton is concerned.
"Andy has had numerous warnings about this type of thing - we won't tolerate it any more." Stated an irate David Moyes on Friday evening.
There has been no confirmation regarding the reason for the player missing training - but for followers of the club it will come as no surprise if the players past problems have came back to haunt him once more.
