Since I was born in 1986 and began following football in 1993, my first real memory is Arsenal vs Man Utd in the charity shield which was decided on penalties. Man Utd were the first premiership winners and for a boy of my age looking on, this was the first team i had ever witnessed win something. The league followed again in 1993/94 along with the FA Cup beating Chelsea. Peter Schmeichel was a goalkeeping god and watching the likes of Giggs, Hughes and Cantona playing fantastic football was mesmerising. 1994/95 Blackburn pipped them as United failed to beat West Ham last game of the season. Everton triumphed in the FA Cup final beating Utd 1-0 leaving them without a trophy that season. It was great to see especially Everton winning the FA Cup. United bounced back in 1995/96 winning the double again and beating Liverpool in the cup final, that Cantona goal in the 86th minute was sweet against them horrible spice boys. 1997/98 was Arsenal's year but 98/99 was by far United's best season, the treble. So from being 7 years old to 13, I had witnessed United dominate football. They still did up until 2013 especially again in 2008, the majority of my life has been dwelled in United success. I've watched teams rebuilt time and time again with great success and magnitude and they were a feared team throughout the world. Alex Ferguson took all of that with him. When I look at them now I see an ageing squad that hasn't produced the same youth prospects as it has and I see a club that lack pulling power in the transfer market. This is a first for me in my life. I grew up hearing every top player being linked with a move to Old Trafford whilst no other club got a sniff. Times have changed and other teams have grew strong, United lack what othe teams have gained and I can see them slowly falling from grace. They aren't a feared team, they don't scare a soul, they are beatable and lack the same killer instinct that was instilled under Alex Ferguson. The team have hit form recently but they aren't the team that would hit a maximum of 4 defeats a season, those days are gone. Everton will approach this fresh and will approach this to win.
