Parkhurst and now Evans have also added to the drama.
Evans played at CB entire camp (seriously, what?). His "being let go" conversation was abrupt (and frankly, disrespectful).
Parkhurst told Crew reporters that JK had made up his mind on the 23 before camp started.
Never been less excited about a World Cup in years.

Why you guys gotta get me down around here? It's sad LD won't be there and I think he should be on the bench ready for a 75th minute sub, but this does not at all impact my excitement or support for the US. As for Evans and Parkhurst, come on. They were on the outside looking in. Anyone would have picked them as part of the seven when the 30 man roster was released. There might be case for bringing Goodson so we at least have SOME experience at CB, but oh well.
Let's not forget we have Bradley, Dempsey, and Zusi to boss the midfield. I believe we will see Jozy come alive and earn himself a transfer for next year. Who knows, maybe one of Mix or Green will announce themselves. This may be our hardest group ever, so expectations are tempered, but the excitement is palpable!

This reminds me of when Glenn Hoddle took the decision to axe Gazza from the 23 before France 98.
It certainly does affect your enthusiasm as a fan loosing your best player. And with Landon it seems even a stranger decision!!
Gazza should of gone even if his role would of been off the bench instead we got rob lee to fill that role. Same as Donovan should be going even if his role was off the bench...
Some Managers want the limelight and do have personel issues with players. Hoddle and JK both have their reasons for not taking these players. One thing is for sure, these ain't purely footballing reasons!!

I think Klinsmann did similar with Germany in 2006 and had to endure the wrath of Kahn. Seems to be his shtick. Take a veteran star player down prior to the WC. Think it was a surprise Lehmann started instead of Oli Kan

I think the decision to leave LD out is as simple as he wasn't the best 23 for the first week of camp.
Ergo, let's cut camp short by 10 days so it remains the same? Where's Paul Harvey when you need him?
