Not strictly usmnt, but was at el trafico on Tuesday. Atmosphere was fantastic. 80k+ at the game. If you ask my 11 year old self that had recently moved to california in 1987 if they envisioned this... no way. Not even Mexican football was on the TV at the time.

Spectators were setting off fireworks flares throughout, flags etc. And a fireworks show after since it was independence day.

Galaxy are near last place, but the spectator were there in droves, barely an empty seat for a stadium that holds close to 90k (the rose bowl).

This only bodes well for the future of usmnt.

Read about that match. Sounded like a great atmosphere. Hoping to catch the replay on ESPN+ (I think that's where it's on).

Can someone explain to me why the usa, after getting 1st in group A play last in the quarterfinals, and if they win, first in the semifinals against a team with an extra day of rest?

Concacaf concacafing?

Hadn’t really considered it. Should be able to beat Panama regardless. If we don’t, it’s on us.

But isn't it really simple to have the 1 seeds from A and B play on the saturday and C and D on the Sunday? OH, that would have meant Mexico and usa would have shared a stadium, thus not maximizing ticket sales.

I guess we had better make the competition less balanced instead.

Concacaf should threaten to remove Mexico from the tournament next summer if the chant doesn't end and if after their removal they keep doing it FIFA should take away their section of hosting in 2026.
No CONCACAF should remove the USA so we can go to a lesser clown show confed

Landon suggested Pulisic should have gone to MLS at least before the WC and everyone thought he was nuts.

I honestly don't think it would be a bad idea (for 1 year, not as an Altidore/Bradley thing). He has the experience playing w/ better competition and generally is adjusted to the faster pace of Euro leagues. He's asked to be the guy the club is built around but really hasn't had the experience as the No.1 guy. He also lacks the sense when we need a goal, how to be selfish while still keeping your teammates involved. Like he'll understand that his club needs him, but then he just tries to do everything himself.

Its a lot easier to stay healthy in MLS, not to mention come WC we'll play what 1 maybe 2 matches against top competetion w/ the majority of the countries fielding clubs on par or below MLS standards and the 2026 will have double the dreck.
