Ivan Gazidis is going to Ac Milan as he due for talks with them soon

That tells me Usmanov is going to purchase the club which was rumoured in the spring with Gazidis following Usmanov to be the CEO.

I just do not see anyone with such close ties to Putin investing heavily in the UK now,Abramovic is listening to offers for Chelsea as well and just wants an offer above the £2 billion mark.

End of our hopes.

My post was more of a general comment regarding his recent behaviour & posts. He’s slagged of Brands on more than one occasion. He’s not come up with anything decent, apart from team news where his mate obviously watches the final training session prior to following game, since Allardyce was in charge. Pathetic behaviour
Had a pint with him today after the game he sends his regards.

Even if he did come with all that money what would it achieve? Financial fair play would halt us as would the fact that even if we did show ambition and tried to sign a 60/70m striker they wouldn’t come here anyway

For me the only way to do it is to sign young players like Monaco and Leipzig and hope they can turn into gems instead of wasting money on average players.

We desperately need this bloke buying us not to only give us the financial muscle to compete but also provide professionalism and a winning mentality.

I look at Liverpool - owners spending big on players, paying big wages to players and also paying big money to attract a top class manager. The players all playing each game like a cup final, leaders on the pitch like Milner and VDV bollocking players, players with quality running the channel's and not being static.

Then compare it to our lot, owner cost cutting with Silva, coming out with stuff like "expected losses, voodoo, McCarthy is family" players not giving a hoot like Schnerderlin, Mirallas, no leadership in the side, rolling over at home against garbage like West Ham.

I'll go as far to say Usmanov is the only realistic factor that can stop us rotting in mid table mediocrity for the foreseeable future.

Fed up of the club these past few years.

Greaves me to agree with you but admit our neighbours are playing at the level we can barely manage as yet.

The sad thing is mate its not even just quality of player at the moment - their manager is genuinely top quality when you look at what he did at Dortmund and how he's turned that lot from jokers under Dogleash and Todgers to a genuine threat. They have leaders on the pitch and seem to have a decent recruitment policy and an overall plan to develop and grow.

Atleast under Moyes you could argue we had solid recruitment, strong mentality (to an extent) and had the odd leader and fighters on the pitch - we were just hamstrung by Kenwright being skint.
