Usmanov

I think he would love to have control of Arsenal.

I also think he knows that the only chance of Kroenke selling is at an inflated price.

I also think he knows he has a very small chance of getting his mitts on Kroenkes shares.

So roll the dice. No game? Ok. Move on.

(And heres me fretting about a £400 car bill, telling folk on the internet how billionaires buy football clubs. Sake.)

Unless i am mistaken he has previously made a offer years ago to buy Kroenkes shares, with what at the time would have represented a bigger % increase over what the shares where valued at.

Not 100% on that but seem to recall having read it

Bbc reporting 'effectively' rejected , whatever that means

I guess in normal businesses, if someone makes a formal offer to buy, there must be a formal rejection. Like if Tesco offered to buy Sainsburys.

But these private businesses dont need to follow the same protocol.

I reckon anyrate.

Wernt there 2 occasions? First when the owners decided to sell to Kroenke, instead of Usnamov, and then again, when like you say, he ofered to buy him out?

Not even 50% sure on that mind.

Someone's got to buy his 27% to sit there and watch an egotistical American do nothing

Ain't happening Tim my old boy

Investment group would take his 27% shareholding in a flash. Arsenal makes good profits year on year.

Usmanov supports and follows Arsenal, not us. He had the chance to buy United but turned it down because he supports Arsenal.

Its a very small chance he would come here.

I didn't say it was likely. But again it's possible. There are always buyers. Someone will fancy it as a start to eventual control down the line. Someone might fancy the investment. I say again, it's not massively likely but far from impossible.

I really do doubt the narrative of him being an Arsenal fan mate, not sure how many Uzbeks born in 1953 at the height of the cold war grew up as boyhood Gooners :)

Which do not get distributed as dividends mind. It would be a pure buy and hold move.

Compared to ten years ago the value has increased vastly, plenty of foreign investors who just want the privlege of being a part owner of a premier league club.

If Usmanov wanted to be involved with us, he would have done it months ago.

he may have had a Regency TR-1 transistor radio, but it have had to have been top of the range as our trip back from loftus road december 84 was blighted by poor reception and we couldn't hear we'd drawn leeds away
