Well, it's not exactly a rip off, as everybody is free to decide they want to donate or not. I made that choice to become a donator to this forum, because of the place it is, not because there's some "Upgraded Member Lounge" available to the members who made a donation.

Danny doesn't force anyone to pay for this forum, but looking at the "Upgraded member list", there are quite a few who made the same decision as me. Again, not because of the access you get to the 'UML' (wouldn't be worth the money for that alone imho), but because of the unique atmosphere around this place. So, feel free to donate or not, but no need to be accusing Danny of a "rip off".

Upgrade as a way of donation, rather than with the idea of receiving 'Value for money'.

I agreed to donate before the upgraded lounge bit, simply to support this wonderful forum.

shouts of "rip off" from mr lineker are merely poor attempts to wind up the board.

best ignore them.
