Been meaning to rant about this for ages, the increasing amount of transfer deals being described as for an "undisclosed fee" is really starting to do my head in.

The Everton website now says;
Everton has agreed an undisclosed fee with Manchester City for the transfer of defender Joleon Lescott.

Should it even be allowed? Shouldn't we be entitled to know?

Discuss....

Maybe its to try and hide an official fee from other clubs, so we don't get held ransom when trying to sign players because of our available cash.

but it is annoying and i would like to know how much we're getting for our player.

Obviously there is not a legal obligation unless you're a PLC. But I do think there is a moral obligation, particularly to those fans that spend the best part of a £1000 a year supporting the team. Everton seem one of the worst offenders, too.

Like you Danny, it really annoys me.

You're right, it seems nearly every transfer these days is for an undisclosed fee. Why exactly? Is there any point?

They're not stupid, and have a shrewd idea of how much money we have to spend. That's just a convenient excuse that the club allows fans to use.

Because it protects an awful lot of people. Why disclose potentially sensitive information if you don't have to?

But everybody knows it's north of £20mil. Whether it's 22, 23 or 24 it makes no difference they should just say. Unless a fee over £30mil has been agreed (obviously not like), then perhaps I could understand it being undisclosed.

I'm just glad Bill was there to work tirelessly to get the best deal for Everton. He might not have invested a penny in players but he's a beast in negotiating top dollar for the sale of assets in blue jerseys.

Again your there without fail . Your prolific you are Dave

So will the fee be disclosed at some point in the future or will it stay undisclosed for eternity?

Would probably be best if it wasn't released till we have time to spend it.

btw. i'm fairly sure Wolves get 15%.

bill has probably negotiated thats its undisclosed for one reason and one reasion only "yes your excellency, if you go to paddy power and put a kings ransom on 'davek criticising me and it all being my fault' " you'll be quids in although i suspect the odds will be very short."
"you could also do a double on him not attending at all this season as well, not like Reidy, he's Mr. Everton"
