The Prestige, based on the Christopher Prest novel, is excellent and with a really spooky final scene.
The illusionist another very atmospheric film about magic , was released around the same time . Also excellent

I thought the illusionist was brilliant

I’d forgotten all about this and for some reason it just popped into my head.

Remember seeing it on Film 4 a few years back. It follows a day in the life of 2 Irish heroin addicts.

It’s seriously funny, not very well known though.
