Angelina Jolie directs it, due for release on boxing day, based on a the true story of louis zamperini, just watched a documentary about the guy on youtube and read his story, such a remarkable person and unbelievable story.

There was an interview with the actor (can't remember who it is) who played him on Radio 2 last week. Believe or not he's English. Angelina was impressed with his yank accent after his reading and then started talking in his native cockney when he'd finished the audition.

I read the book last summer. Completely mind-blowing. Can't believe that this fella experienced so much: lots of good, hell of a lot of bad. But a terrific story. Don't know how it will translate to a movie.
