Confused?

You will be.....trust UEFA to take something very straight forward and make it massively unappealing.

No doubt this is just some gimmick that can be sponsored.

Definitely money and power grabbing - nothing in it for UEFA in friendlies, some of which will be against sides from other confederations. Everything to do with international football has gotten so boring.

It's rotten to the core mate. The weird thing about this is the drip down qualification, teams winning the qualification lottery as opposed to winning through play.

Can see the top country's playing scratch teams once they have qualification.

This is another way of ensuring all the big countries qualify, but at least some minnows get a spot.

Lost interest before I finished reading the explanation.

Utterly dull if we play the same few teams repeatedly in a league. Little variety, and no opportunity for smaller teams to have the honour of playing the bigger ones.

When will football realise that their overwhelming desire to collect money is not what makes things interesting. I am turning cold off professional sport, I really am.

Same

Just been reading about this: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/41580638. Confused as feck. Seems like it might give a chance for a couple more 'smaller' teams to qualify for the Euros tho?

Not sure that it's much to complain about tho, considering how much people hated friendlies. Think there should be some dates left for the odd friendly though.

The way i've worked it out is that there are going to be 10 groups of 5/6 who enter the Qualifications. The top 2 automatically go through, and then the winners of League 1-4 then also get a place. (Each league is separated into groups of 3-4 and they face each other in 3 round robins over Sept-Nov, then the winners will face wach other and the winner will go into the Euros).

Just seems a bit stupid to me.

Effectively, you could lose every game, but because x-y-z all qualified through qualification, you get in anyway?

In theory, Andorra could qualify for the Euro's without actually winning a game... more realistically, Englandcould face a really hard group, flunk, including losing consistently inthe Nations League, and qualify based on a prior seeding 2 years earlier, because other teams in League 1 have already qualified. Boss.

I wish we had more international football. And really convoluted systems to qualify to play for more. And plenty of ways of getting cash cow nations into major tournaments. And all with a sprinkling of corruption to allow pariah nations to have showcase events whilst other nations who have substantiated their methods of self-interest in law can complain.

That'd be brilliant.
