UEFA have fined us!

It's funny that in the 'old' days pitch invasions were part of the fun, at least if you could climb over the damned bars that hugged every ground back then. From the players perspective, though, it must be frightening. The fine is warranted if only to protect them from the minority morons that follow each and every club.

thats a different penalty all together.

sadly the half assed measure enforced now only prompts them and others similar to go for a jolly on some foreign pitch.

real consequences are all that is felt, not some inconsequential fine for those not actually involved with the discrepancy.

The fine essentially invites the club to get its act together. Watch what happens if Everton suddenly gained a reputation on a global stage for unruly fans. The club would come down on them like a tonne of bricks. I know we have our morons, but that is usually kept from the public arena. Playing in Europe raises the bar for Everton. I would expect the club to take further bad behaviour very seriously.

it probably cost uefa more than the £2,500 to investigate it the stupid [Poor language removed].

police should have cracked a few faces to make a point.

I'm beginning to think you're the Nazi Pig Dog you accuse others in your signature of being. "Cracked a few faces" for over exuberant celebration? Waaaaaaaaaaay OTT. UEFA are ruining football with these stupid fines. The people who ran on to the pitch weren't hooligans, weren't fighting, ok maybe had a few too many but "crack a few faces!!!!" fcuk me. (n)

deterrent

1.serving or tending to deter.
2.something that deters: a deterrent to crime.
3.military strength or an ability to defend a country or retaliate strongly enough to deter an enemy from attacking.

just for the record, you can 'think' what you like, well done for becoming the sixth person to mention the signature. you can class their behaviour as ''over exuberant celebration'', i class it as potentially threatening to our future in european competition. it was similar people that ran onto the pitch in pre-season. once the club become known for supporter infractions, the punishments facing the club will be escalated.

lets tackle it before it gets out of hand, to not address the so far minor problem is only to encourage further fan indiscretions.
