Kilbane just had a little wrestling match in the Div 1 playoff semi final (huddersfield 2-1 up, 3-2 on agg).

With the ref.

Amazingly, he wasnt sent off.

edit: 2-2, the goal sees one of the best dummys of the entire season

Braga have been the poorest I've ever seen in any cup final.

Every chance they had to cross it they'd either hit it too long or hit a Porto man. Every chance on goal was squandered. Possession was surrended stupidly easily.

Utterly woeful.

the playoff semi final has been much better than this europa final sounds - currently near the end of the first bit of extra time, huddersfield have just equalized to make it 3-3 (4-4 on aggregate)

When Robson moved to Porto he ended up living in the same block as Villas-Boas, who was 16 and still at school. After a few games with Robson in charge, Villas-Boas sent him a letter saying he was wrong to keep Domingos (the Braga coach tonight ironically) on the bench and should be playing him more. Robson wrote back asking for evidence to back this up, and Villas-Boas sent it, and hugely impressed Robson with his argument -to the point that he got offered a job that included being sent to do his coaching badges at Lilleshall at 17.

Huddersfield 1 Bournemouth 0 in the div 1 playoff as well

Enjoyed that story more than the game

It wasn't terrible, but in no way Everton v Blackpool 2011

Villas-Boas for the absolute win. What a guy

I love how as soon as Falcao scored, they linked him with City....a sign of things to come hey

Poor game overall, but football won in the end. The ****e must be kicking themselves that they lost to braga, a really average team.

On a side note, i thought the stadium looked great at the end there, when they kept showing it from a distance lit up.

All the portugeezers will be in temple bar now paying 6 euro a pint. They wont be there long.

It wasnt the greatest of games but due to the Porto fans there was a real carnival atmosphere inside the ground .

I dont understand fans who say they would rather there club didnt qualify for this competition , im sure the night will live long in memory of the 14000 or so Porto fans that were there , and Porto are a side who would have hopes of making the last 16 of the CL every year .

In the last few weeks listening to both the RS and Spurs fans sayin they didnt want 5th , and sounding as though they will no doubt be in the top 4 next year done my head in , its the toughest league in the world to make the CL places, so for me , if europa league qualification is achieved , it should not be sniffed at or treated like a burden .

Well done Porto on winning it , it didnt seem to burden them too much having only drawn 3 all season , i know in a poor league but a great return nonetheless .

And thanks to the citeh and RS by the ground before kick off for providing me with a laugh , prob bought there tickets at the group stage .
