I completely agree it's down to the lad to push for and sustain a role in the side but whereas the pressure was off him when he played for Southampton last season in what was a pretty dismal team the expectations on his shoulders following his transfer to us probably weighs more on him than before.….he started two games (I think) against Wolves and Palace and got hooked in them both (the Palace game at half-time). He’s ayoung professional, he should be sitting on the bench desperate to come on against tiring defenders.
Posters keep making excuses for him but ultimately it’s down to him.
But, yes, if he wants to make a name for himself and to play with the grown ups then he needs to start proving himself capable of doing so.
