Player Valuation: Free Transfer
This seems to have been dubbed "the new facebook" and is all the rage in the newspapers and in the celeb world. More and more celebs are joining all the time but the only footballer on it so far is that reds***e Stan Collymore. So I was wondering has anyone on here given it a bash?

I dont mind Collymore now mate, he usually has some spot on things to say.

Slates that lot loads considering he's an ex player.

And I would have loved to have slammed Ulrika all over the show in the nineties.

I made one and I think the only thing I ever tweeted was that Twitter underwhelmed me.

Not worth the fuss imo. Though if you knew anyone at all that used it it might be!

Nah, if you want to follow celebs, its pretty cool.

I actually follow my web design peers, the top guys. I know most of them, but it's interesting to read how they are evolving, they are usually at the crest of anything new out there, so it's a fairly decent info source.

I use it regularly and have several accounts for various things. I think you have to differentiate yourself from the likes of the Facebook status updates as it's kinda different to that in that you can choose whoever you want to get updates from.

I'd also recommend anyone getting a desktop app, such as Thwirl or Tweetdeck rather than use the website interface. It makes the experience much easier and more akin to using instant messenger than Twitter.

At the moment I mainly follow people for work purposes but for things like the Sri Lankan shootings it was a great way of keeping up to date on the topic. To put this 'on the pulse' in context, I went to see the Telegraph last week and they had Twitterfall (a hot topic Twitter service) running live on a bloody great screen in the middle of their news room so that journalists could keep up with what was hot, even before the newswire services got hold of things.

It's the future alright.

You can also piggyback the Twitter data stream.

Foamee by Simplebits.com is an example of this, not that useful, but fun all the same.

I've never used it because I don't see the point in it's existence

I'll probably get into it after anyone else like I did with Myspace & facebook
