TV Series

I have been watching Goliath over the last week or so, Billy Bob Thornton playing... BBT really. But its watchable and relatively easy on the brain. I quite like it.

Down and out lawyer who drinks too much or is deeply flawed but somehow works it out kind of scenarios... decent
He plays a very similar character in Landman (Paramount +). It's a bit, er, "grittier" that Goliath as you will realise after watching him getting his head kicked in within 10 mins. of episode 1.

Gold & Greed : The Hunt for Fenns Treasure ( 3 parts on Netflix )

The true story of retired eccentric pilot, who hides a treasure chest full of gold in the American wilderness, then writes a book full of cryptic clues as to its whereabouts.

This in turn leads to a full on gold rush of treasure hunters looking for it.

Wildly entertaining, as people lose all sense of reality as greed grips them in the hunt for the gold, then it turns darker as people start getting killed in accidents in the wilderness.

Totally nuts.

@Littlesue

Just finished series 2 of Black Snow.

Although it’s more polished and everyone is a proper actor, I preferred the grittiness of the first series.

Travis Frimmel is excellent in the lead in both though and I can see a third series being made.
Just finished series 2. I'm opposite, much preferred 2. Agree about the possibility of the 3rd being as the last half of the final episode was about him and his family

I`m a really big fan of the Aussie gritty outback crime drama`s, as they`re completely unique to Australia and quite often, they take not so subtle swipes at the seemingly endemic racism towards Aboriginal people in these communities, which is letting the word know that the mistreatment of these people is sadly still alive and well today.

Have a look at Mystery Road too, I think you`ll like it. ( On Iplayer )

Series one, especially of the tv drama is brilliant, gripping, seedy and dark A/F.

There`s a film too, but it`s not as good as the tv series ( imo )

Watched 2 eps of A Thousand Blows last night. Brilliant so far.

Can’t get through my list of shows at the moment as so many things being released.

Watched first ep of The Last of Us S2 as well and thought it was a great start to the season. I feel for Bella Ramsey for the amount of crap that gets posted about her. Think she has done a good job as Ellie tbh. And people forget that it’s an adaptation of a fictional story so they don’t have to look the same as the fake, animated characters.

Will check it out

Well here`s something I thought I`d never right, I quite enjoyed series three Gangs of London.

If you ignore the ridiculousness of mass running gun battles going on all over London, a city that has thousands of top of the range CCTV / ANPR and virtually zero involvement from the authorities, I thought it was miles better than the other two series.

Writing was better and the way they knitted the plot together was good too.
