Turnstyle Usability

Now for the last few seasons I have just paid for games and use a paper based ticket. So I understand the putting the ticket into the slot. It makes sense, it's obvious. It's what you should do.

So now I have my season ticket, a card. I am more inclined to stick into the slot than anything else. Two tries and nothing, so the ticket guy had to show me, apparently you place the card flat against the slot.

Bizarre. Wonder how many people did that. More complexities from this club.

Most people did it when it was first introduced 2 years ago... Now you know what to do, there should be no problem. This system is in place at most clubs now though. Times might well be looking bleak but I cant help feel you're looking for excuses to slate them now.

Me too, placed my card in the slot and walked through, then waited for the mrs to follow, hers was rejected as was many others at the time. All sorted in the end though, maybe they should have sent a little schematic with instructions, when the cards were issued. I guess the cards are using rfid chips.

All I was saying that it seems quite complex, and as I am a Web Designer and I study Interface usabilities, I thought it was a little complex. Perhaps a small diagram would have helped.

2. If you have a card and you go to the cashpoint with it, what do you do? Do you stick it in? Or do you rub it up against it?

I'm fairly sure what happened to me happened to everyone when they were new to the system.

Card and Slot. What do you do? Stick the card in the slot. 9/10 people will do that.

Ok, the other day for the Malaga game, I tried to rub my ticket against the thingy. Cos im now used to the card way, so I suppose it could be fairly easy to get it wrong. But as others have pointed out, there are instructions somewhere.

But to be honest you know what to do now, so may I ask, what the fecking point of this thread is?
