I hate football
New Zealand are looking frighteningly good. This is ominous for the World Cup.

Anyone else follow the rugby?

A.B.'s always seem to peak too soon when there's a World Cup, to them it means everything and their whole system is geared towards w.c. but they keep on peaking early, they seem to be getting it closer to the tournament each time though, I've seen them go from 18 months before to the tri-nations just before. Maybe this time they have it right though ?

Once it get's underway though they start to believe their own hype, and start to believe that they are unbeatable, not a bad thing but when a team then comes out and sticks it to them then they fall apart as if to say "this isn't in the script."

I haven't studied the draw but I predict that if they come up against the french in the later stages then the frogs will hit them with everything including le lavabo, on their day when they decide to run the frogs play a game that is unstoppable and they keep on doing it to the A.B.'s.

One thing is for certain though, when they get knocked out there will be no credit to the opposition whatsoever, it will be put down as A.B.'s having a bad day, ref bent, food poisoning, liquifaction, a whole number of things encompassing everything apart from "they outplayed us on the day and were the better team."

Expect a bit of shenanigans during the tournament, typically accusations of racism will be made by an airport worker or chamber maid against a south african to put them off their game.

hopefully there will be plenty of streams as well.

In related news, it was announced today that former Boks scrum half Joost van der Westhuizen has been diagnosed with Lou Gehrig's disease and has less than 5 years to live!

Pretty darn sad news that. Probably the best scrum half of his generation.

Too true Bruce. What a shame. Best wishes to him and family.

I said that in this morning's paper. Truly awful stuff, an amazing player and inspirational leader.

World Cup related, you should hear the kiwis over here, according to them it's already in the bag they just have to turn up! Even got a victory parade booked and all.
