Just a recap how far we have progress under moyes. Took 7 years to build a squad we have now. There are a few big flops as well as many bargains along the way. Quite please overall but still felt we could have done more.
I would not consider that a big achievement but we are certainly moving towards the right direction.
If you look at our transfer, the major break comes after the sale of rooney. Same thing happen this year, the sale of lescott could help us in the long run. Time will tell.

If only we're rich enough....... Lucho Gonzalez, Moutinho, Van Der Vaart, Fernandes, banega.

He spent a fair few quid in 2005 didn't he.
Did Mark Hughes ( not City boss ) ever get a game? His stats say 1 cup game and 1 sub, but I don't remember the guy at all.

I can't remember much too.

Wish to point out Yobo was one of the first purchase by moyes and he's still here after 7 years. Longest serving player in the current squad.

Nice recap. On the balance, the business is positive.

Another spend on the "In" would be Pienaar. I see the loan in 2007 but not the buyout in 2008. As I recall, DM negotiated a buyout for pennies compared to what his market value is now.

Mark Hughes did look good in his two appearances and had the potential to be good. By all accounts loved his nights out on the tiles which led to a bust up with Moyes and was shipped off to Northampton or somewhere I think

He moved to Walsall for free this summer.

scored 1 in 18 then hit 1 first game for blackburn didnt he ?

[edit] Everton and Blackburn Rovers (2000–2002)

When Glenn Hoddle arrived as Southampton's manager, Hughes did not fit in to his plans and he left for Everton. He only played 16 times over the course of two seasons, scoring a single goal. He left on a free transfer to Blackburn Rovers, moving outside the top division for the first time in his playing career in 2000–01. He played a key role in getting Blackburn promoted from Division One in 2001. He also lifted the League Cup with Blackburn in February 2002[2], before finally hanging up his boots in July 2002 a few months short of his 39th birthday

an he has a girls name.....leslie

Different Mark Hughes mate I think.

I do not think that Moyes record is streets ahead or behind anyone else. Done some good ones and a few turnips but most managers do. But will say he has in many dealings got value for money.
