Everton take Brazilian teenage prospect Gerson on trial with a view to sealing January deal

One for the future: Everton boss David Moyes is running the rule over Brazilian teenager Gerson
Everton have taken Brazilian defender Gerson on trial with a view to signing him from Botafogo in January.
The 17-year-old cannot move until his 18th birthday on January 7. He has a contract with the Rio de Janeiro side until 2012, but Botafogo will accept bids of about £900,000.
Gerson impressed recently on a tour of Holland with his club's youth team and has since been training with the seniors.

As manager of Swansea on Football Manager 97 it seems that I could always get Brazilian clubs to agree to sell but always got rejected for visa approval. Is this one headed to the same fate or does he qualify? We don't need another Anderson deSilva saga.
