Trains to london

Running things too tight time-wise.
Best to relax, enjoy the game and then have a few celebratory pints in The Lisbon (maybe sort out your night's accommodation in there as well)

How [Poor language removed] are the trains BTW, just looked for getting one back after Chelsea and there's no chance..
Not [Poor language removed], just annoying how early the stations close. I can understand suburban stations, but long-distance stations should be open til at least 1.30am imo. Some routes have their last trains leaving at about 7pm, it's a joke.

I've got the 7:48 twice after 5:30 kick offs and made it both times without pre booking a cab. Just left at the whistle and a light jog down the road until I found a cab. Do-able.

Try and get a cab towards Walton Road, as you get them heading up towards Goodison to pick people up, quick turn around there, most of them rush as they want to get bak for another easy rare. On County Road its harder to do a UTurn.

I guess it all depends on the gamble you want to take

Leave on 85mins and you will be fine
Leave on the whistle you take the gamble....

Personally I would leave at 80- 85 mins....

The worst would be leaving a close exciting game because time's your enemy. As you leave the stadium you hear the roar... Everton has just scored the winner and it's later voted the best goal of the season.
The cab gets caught in roadworks that have seemingly suddenly sprang out of nowhere... you rush into the station only to see your train setting off ... you've missed it.
You're WELL pissed off but reckon 'a hotel, some beak and a brass'...only to find you've dropped your wallet in your mad rush into the station. All you have on you is a few quid in coins.
A TV in the station announces there were THREE goals in extra time and the game you left early was reckoned to be the most exciting game in PL history.
A broken man, you trudge disconsolately about the streets, despair ridden.
You espy a sign outside a pub "A nice time for just a few quid...Cum Inside!"
With eager hope you rush inside...

... and The Lisbon delivers on its promise...

boro is a 5:30 kick off.

Can I see the whole game and get a train at 7:48? If I miss it, the next train takes 11 hours...

Risky!

What part of the ground you in?
Leave on the whistle on Bullens or Gwladys and you've got no chance of reaching County or Walton road before the hordes appear in front of you.

Go the Oak and have a quite a few in there then hitch it down to London. Easy. Dead safe nowadays
