you're knocking about in webs that Mr Motivator would consider a bit too gaudy and you're slagging off classic trainees to be fair

Like I say mate it must be a Scouse thing!

Different tastes mate, as I said - all of those Adidas look basically the same, there's only 2 different silhouettes that they used, and tiny modifications between them.

Those Reebok graphite pump were on my wanted list back in 1992 when they first came out, but I couldn't afford them at the time and ended up with some Puma Trinomic things so when they were re-released I bought them, same with the Jordan's, and the Shaq Pump (although they are both to sell later)

Golas are like £75 these days! Like those crappy Dunlop that nobody wanted.

I owned a pair of Gola that I destroyed in no time at all when I was younger, they went and bought me an identical pair as a replacement and I was gutted.

Only pair of trainers my parents bought me that were any good was some Adidas ZX8000, all the rest I hated.

I bought myself some black Puma Disc (used to get away with black trainers as school shoes back in the day) and my dad gave them to his mates son, and in the same week my mum washed my Reebok Ventilator on a hot wash and the sole fell off!

Moral of the story, parents and trainers don't go together.

Having never heard of Puma Disc or Reebok Ventilator, I decided to have a look at them.

Having looked at them, I'm going to ask that the mods thead ban you from this thread as an act of kindness.

Those Reeboks are usually worn by lads called Gavin or Shane, from Runcorn Old Town and those Puma look like something that would finish a nice leatherman outfit off.

As you've never heard of either is suggest mods ban you! This isn't the 'adidas' bland trainer love in thread, it's the 'trabb (?) Watch' thread. And neither of my pairs looked like that!

You're on thin ice there, calling Adidas bland there mate.

I suggest you take your trabs, ghetto blaster and lino to the Golden Square in Warrington x

Brilliant!

Nah seriously mate I do like the old school Adidas stuff but it is very plain and not really my thing - 90s were when I was collecting trainers so I prefer Nike, Reebok and the more 'ornate' shall we say Adidas stuff.

I seem to like the gimmicky stuff, pump, torsion, disc, air, ventilator, graphlite, hexalite, dymacel, regulator, boost, Trinomic! Just one-upmanship by the companies, with most of them being crap a few end up being brilliant (Boost, air and pump)

The problem with all the gimmicy trainers is that they have loads of rubber on them and if you don't store them properly the rubber seems to perish really easily.

I had a new pair of Jordan's ( not gimmicky I know ) and dry stored them for years. When I wore them, the soles dropped off after a few days, as the glue that holds the soles on had gone all brittle.

I have the Jordan 6 infrared boxed from 2014, they are on ebay and fetch between £300 and £500 and I've not even checked the soles (they usually go yellow on clear rubber soles) so they will probably be sold by the end of this year.

Those Shaq Pump are a rerelease from this year but the last rerelease were selling for around £300 so I picked up a pair for the sake of £120.

Thing with trainers these days is the soles are always really soft rubber - Roshes don't even have rubber on! It's just the foam crap that the cushioned sole is made from, worn the red ones (Valentine's present from the missus) 3 or 4 times outside and the heel and ball have both worn out.

Those Ultra Boost I had got thrown after 6 months because they wore through to the boost too, I'm sure trainers used to be better than that?! £130 for the boost and £90 for the Roshes to both last no time at all is a joke.

I remember borrowing my brother's Reebok ERS (energy return system) running shoes for PE once, genuinely thinking the energy return stuff would make the 800m race easier.

3 yellow foam sticks on the heel... same as the hexalite stuff! Makes not a jot of difference!
