Perhaps, a chance to jump the rags with their progression in the Europa League? Zlatan and Rojo (karma) look to be out for a while, joining Jones, Smalling and Mata on the long-term injury list.

Well, I think this result for Arsenal answers the OP question....and hands Liverpool a far better chance of clinging onto a CL spot.

Top 6 was there for us, up until this squad of cowards decided to go on an early holiday.

Get rid of anyone not prepared to give 100% for the cause in every single game. We should not be seen as an easy ride for these losers anymore.

...yet you'll defend Baines to the hilt no doubt?

Agree completely, although unfortunately it won't work like that as we still need a squad. Koeman mentioned our players mentality in relation to 'being on holiday' before yesterday. Why? 6th was still realistic a few weeks ago and mathematically still possible up until we lost yesterday. Too many of these players have the wrong attitude, including 2 of our supposed star players, Lukaku and Barkley. Even putting talent to one side, the attitude of a lot of our squad is unacceptable.

He's already pencilled in Baines and Jagielka for another two seasons. Along with the other loafer Mirallas they are probably the two I'd march to the exit first off in the summer.

Most pointless two games ever coming up. Everton can't go down in the table and up is incredibly unlikely. Opportunity for Koeman to play around with formations, bring in kids etc

Worth mentioning that the team who are next place down to us, WBA, are ten points off the drop zone.

That is mad. It shows how 'kin dire this league is. Literally any team from WBA down with a loss here and there are relegation fodder.

What's your point? You're quoting something from four months ago. This is the defining period of the season where you get to see fitness levels. Sadly Baines' isn't good enough to carry on being selected for a team who want to challenge.

He is still easily good enough for any team below 7th, though.
lol All of four months ago?

Sorry mate. I'm not being nasty. I'm just glad that someone else finally sees the light on this feller. His automatic inclusion in Everton's team is toxic for our chances in the future.

Just get rid.

Half a season, and it has shown.

Not a fan of always saying 'give x player a coaching role', but I genuinely think Baines deserves a coaching role.

He was world class in his prime, unfortunately for him, Ashley Cole was around at the same time.

It isn't just Baines that needs the chop, that entire back 5, GK included, ALL need to go.

I think that's the problem at this club: jobs for the boys...boys who won f.a. and then pass their loser stink on down the line to their successors.
