Top of the flops

Tongue in cheek thread but not a great success rate at the minute, and you could even add previous signings, Bolasie, Williams, Schneiderlain, Lookman, Stek, etc and it doesn't get much better.

We badly need a striker and defender to arrive early in Jan, but it's easy to envisage another overhaul in the summer.

Harsh on Sandro who's a 21 year old that cost £5m and not harsh enough on our club record £45m playmaker in chief who has nightmares about through balls.

I just want to see what these players can do in a fluid/balanced team under a new manager, I don't need to reel off what Sandro and Klaasen did for previous clubs but they are obviously good players that unfortunately could not make an immediate impression on a team that has no idea how it wants to play. As for Sigurdsson he's been terrible so far but we need to stand by him, you don't play excellently in the premier league for the amount of years he has if you're not a very good player.

Sack Koeman and just start again with some fresh ideas.

Has to surely be.

1. Sigurdsson - Aside from a fluke goal against Split, has he done anything? Hit a post against Lyon, with a cross? Anything else?
2. Keane - Spent big money on him, and he's been shakey as. But by the sounds of things, it's because KoeKoe is consistently telling the defence to change their system last minute, and it shows. They look lost out there.
3. Klaasen - He's been a huge flop. He doesn't get involved when he's on the pitch, and he doesn't really do anything right. Passes are short, tackles are cowardly, involvement minimal. I'm sure there could be a player in there, but not under Koeman who's shattered his confidence.
4. Cuco - Not his fault that he's completely turd and keeps getting picked, but come on, some of the stuff he does, you get told to not do when you're 6-7 in Sunday League. Regularly man handles the opponents to give away cheap free kicks, doesn't clear his lines properly, and I don't think he actually knows how to hit a ball other than with his laces, doesn't matter if you're 2-3 yards to 50 yards, you're getting the ball hoofed at you.
5. Sandro - I feel sorry for Sandro. You can definitely see there is a player in there, but he's definitely trying "Too Hard". I say that as, he tries to over complicate things sometimes, but he showed me enough in the Lyon game to suggest there is a player there, even if he did make a couple of mistakes. Get the lad a goal and he'll settle. I think some of his criticism is a bit undeserved, even if he has been disappointing.
6. Rooney - He's been okay since coming back. I say okay, because he regularly gives 100% but you can see he's somewhat past it. You never lose your class, and his goal yesterday shows that, but he can't expect to run every game like he does. Overally, I'm ecstatic with Rooney's return, because... well, I expected a dud, we've just got a slightly past it Rooney instead.
7. Pickford - He must be thinking he's a curse, after last seasons Sunderland catastrophe, he probably sat there rubbing his hands together at the prospect of joining a team who looked on the up, with huge ambition. Instead, he's joined Sunderland Mk. II, he pulls off save after save, and proves his worth. He's still young, and naturally, makes mistakes, but he's been brilliant so far.
8. Vlasic - Written off. Moaned about. But i reckon we've got a gem here. Truthfully, forgot to throw him in, but he's worthy of being the "Best" so far because he makes such a difference. Runs at defences, regularly wants the ball, and offers something so different to what we normally have. Not quite a 90 minute player so far, but he's very good, and I can't wait to see more tbh. If there's one thing we have taken from the Split game, it's Vlasic, as I highly doubt we'd sign him, if it wasn't for us drawing them.
