Agreed. So the result would still be that people unable to make the decison themselves couldnt have someone else make it for them, other than the medical profession? In other words, family could not ask that someone is taken out of their misery?

Family should be the last people to make that decision really due to the likelyhood of their being ulterior motives for wanting someone dead.

You'd like to think it wouldn't happen but it would and thats wheh the problems arise.

Quite, which is why I would go for living wills.
 

Locked in syndrome is possibly the worst living nightmare that can happen to a person. I'm glad a bit of common sense has moved this unfortunate situation into the public eye but also up to the high courts. Hopefully he gets what he wants, because otherwise he is being convicted to a whole life sentence.
