Odd, this one. Contract expired yesterday, and I found this tweet from mid may from @everton

But nothing was mentioned after that. Oddly enough, his name is still on the OS, and you can buy a shirt with HIBBERT 2 on the OS shop.

shouldn't really be giving him a contract, he's been good to us and we have to him but the time should be at an end now.

That must have been one of the most surreal moments ever for the Athens players, seeing thousands of fans flood the pitch in a completely meaningless game. Superb scenes. I remember pmsl in the knowledge that Everton were promoting the game using 'If Hibbo scores, we riot' etc, then getting on the tannoy to say get off the pitch when he netted. :lol:

maybe he wants first team football for a couple of years, you would have to applaud that, as it appears he has the option to stay at everton and collect a wage as back up

It's a squad game and he's solid enough to cover if something happens to Coleman. We're gonna need him at times next season.

the only game martinez was comfortable picking him in was against 2nd division dross, if he doesn't think he can cover in the prem, best to get rid and use his wage elsewhere

I think he's done pretty well on the odd occasion he's had to play centre back, too.

We never will be mate, but I suppose we need to develop/free-up cash for cover for Seamus. I'm fairly sure he'll be back after a bit of a wander like.
