Thought he had a shaky start but impressed me tonight and I'm all for giving credit where it's due he looked very good, especially going forward.

I could have said this in the main thread, but I thought we could applaud him, as he does come in for criticism, notably by myself.

So well done Hibbert lad.

Did fine but his game is still wanting. Just look at Baines on the other side, up down, tackling, crossing, linking up.....

Hibbo - got caught out a few times with long balls towards their winger. Cant cross. Rarely attacks or gets nearly the opposition box.

But I do blame Ossie a far bit for not covering him.

I didn't see the game so can't really comment but I get the feeling that we were playing a poor side. It is one thing looking good against weaker opposition but he will never do it in the Prem.

The opposition wasn't the strongest, but the bookies favoured a 2-0 outcome, and I wasn't even sure we would come out as a team, just a bunch of blokes with similar shirts.
We did good, Hibbert played his part, and his main duties are defensive - he does that, I'm happy.

I'm sorry bluesb1970 but we could have been stuffed tonight (had their chances and 100% penalty shouts gone the other way). And it wouldn't have been Hibbert's fault.

Hibbert, to get back to the subject, showed how he can play. As said before, I would like to see him with someone in front of him who he can trust (and no, that wasn't said just because of what Ratcliffe was wittering on about).

Credit to you, Nick, for starting the thread, since you've been very critical in the past.

Hibbert was outstanding tonight.

He had a good season last season, and most remember his season because of the final which is a bit harsh.

I'm the first to call a player bad if they play bad, so it's only right I call him outstanding, when I think he was outstanding.

Well done lad.

When we play a good side, Hibbert and Osman are not good for each other. When Osman was moved into the center, he looked comfortable and did a nice few passes to Jo, he also got in some good tackles to break up play.
Hibbert needs protection and someone to help him out. He played fine tonight but if we want to really kick on, we need better players down the right.
Hibbert and Osman should be squad players, they should not be regulars for a team who aspire to be in the top4.

I'm not sure we need to replace both though.
Replacing one might create a much better relationship. The problem is which one.
