Player Valuation: £30m
RIP Tom Finney

A true gent and one of Englands finest (M

Played for Preston England and fought in the 8th Army in WW2

After Munich United wanted to sign him and went to Preston with an open cheque book. Tom wanted to go to United but Preston wouldn't sell him

He was also a magistrate and once fined me 250 quid for putting a bloke through a window

I agree there nev.

Apparently Palermo offerred 30,000 and a 10,000 pound signing fee, a villa, a sports car and free return travel for his family any time they wanted to visit.
The preston board said ''you're staying'' and gave him a two up two down with a plaque on the door saying
''At least it's not a villa''*

Sounds like he was way ahead of his time as a player.

RIP Maestro.

*May have made that second paragraph up
