….I get really nervous when he comes on because he’s brave in possession. Trouble is, he tries to transition like Osman but he’s nowhere near the same quality so he’s high risk. He gives the ball away in very dangerous areas.

He normally comes on, picks up a cheap yellow card and gives away a few dangerous free kicks around our area. Be great if someone like Sheffield United came in for him so he could come off the bench and do the same for them...

I also think clubs have worked him out. He got away with his risks for a bit, but quite quickly people got wise to him a it was not unexpected. I'm not sure he has ever really developed from that point.
It surprises me why people have looked at him as a 6. I don't really see that. To me hes probaby best as more of a box to box player, who makes some tackles and tries to get on the end of things. If I was coaching him, I'd have been working on his shooting/finishing. He often gets into good positions, but doesn't finish well enough. But if he added 6 or 7 goals to his game, he would probably be a first team starter.

Nothing wrong with that. Harsh to say he is crap really. I will say when he gets the ball he tries to turn and at least look forward instinctively. We have had, and still have, much higher profile and higher paid midfielders who are more than happy to wall pass back to the centre backs to pad their pass completion %.

…awful finisher, not sure you can work on that much. In the pressure of a match you have to have a picture of the goal and strike a ball well. He’s too heavy legged (for me) to be a box-to-box, which means he’s also a liability to play full back or in wide areas.
I’m honestly not sure where he can fill in and add value, even as cover.

I don't know, he's been put on a few times in last 12 months when team has been defending a 1-0 and can't remember any mistakes. Key is that remains his role and he's not seen actually starting premier league games anytime soon.

I think that decision is based more on our finances.
We can barely afford to buy starting players we need I’d imagine, let alone having to fork out to replace bit part players.
I agree, we won't have anything to get squad players. We need players for the bench and as cover nearly as much as first teamers.
Makes sense, keep him as far away from our goal as possible so the damage he can do is limited.
