Davies is 25 this year. He really should be playing in a Championship team for his own good. It’s clear we don’t have much money otherwise he would not be offered a new deal.

There will be logic behind it. If he’s being kept on as fifth choice centre mid so we don’t have to spend money there and they don’t have to waste mental energy trying to sign yet another player, I can just about accept it. Hope they’ve offered him reduced terms to reflect his importance.

I don’t think he’s good enough though, nor do I think he’ll actually accept the contract. He’ll do what JJK did and leave for first team footy.
