They just cant get themselves clear of the rivals for that fourth spot and they've had a fair wind behind them since Suarez came back and gave them all those goals. They're fortunate Moyes is such a failure that United are being held back for now, but I can see them going a spell picking up half the points on offer and us or Spurs are going to have a real purple patch and leave them with a lot to do.

They simply are not an elite squad of players. They were very lucky to face an Everton team severely weakened by players who really should have been in the treatment room and not on the pitch.

BTW, if Martinez was their manager, I would be VERY worried about their prospects with that decent level of player + wc striker and a load of money to spend. Rodgers v Martinez isn't even worth debating...the little Catalan magician is twice the manager that fraud is.

And because of all that I'm sure you won't ignore for a second time my offer of a £100 bet to a charity of the winners choice that Liverpool finish above Everton.

Would of been so much better if his goal had been down the end where the Liverpool fans where. Especially with them belting out 'Blue and White Sh*te' when he came on.

If you would have said to me this time last week that we would currently be 2 points off them, I would have probably taken it.

A win at Anfield was always going to be a tall ask and we were naive in the extreme. Today's result has near enough cancelled out any advantage they picked up on Tuesday. Despite battering us 4-0 they have only gained a point on us.

At half time yesterday I thought they would be opening up a 7 point gap on us. It is now only 2. With all the results this weekend Everton have been the big winners.
