Like the little touch before someone runs onto it?? Makes no sense at all. By the time the player runs onto it, the defense has closed the gap to within 2 yards of the ball. Further cutting down the angle.

I think the strategy is to use the touch to make a gap in the wall. It has a track record of working 0% of the time. I don't understand it either.
