How many matches ? Just googled Pele, his first 100 goals came in 81 games at 18 years and thirteen days ! I wonder how long it took Dixie Dean to reach 100 goals.

Just scored and broke the record, apparently. 100 goals in 104 matches. If your stats are correct then im a little confused as to what record he has broken.

From what I can see tonight is his 104th game and hes scored 99 goals.

As for the others, Peles records are a mess, Dixie scored 122 goals in 119 games in his first 4 seasons, you would need to check that 1.

Oh sorry, yeh it's basically because they got kicked out of the Asian tournaments both club and country and no one wanted to play them. So outside of World Cups they just weren't getting any games so UEFA let them in ours in the 90's.

Yep, who knows. Jimmy Greaves scored 100 goals before he was 21, 174 in his first 131 goals. I bet there's more stats from football's history, but it's all been airbrushed away.

I saw some stat today that if Kane scores two goals tonight (he’s already got one), he becomes the fastest player in the history of football to reach 100 Goals for a club.

Goal tallies like these are obviously impressive but I do personally place a much higher value on modern records since half these didn’t have the offsides etc.

They also didn't have the protection afforded modern day prima donnas. Career ending heavy violence was common place. He must've been as slippery as an eel and faster than greased lightning.

I'd say the offside law was harder before it was changed in 1990. Dixie Dean played with the rule of three players rather than two.
