Today’s Football - 2024/25 Season

Be a long way to go; Spanish Football is so rotten, it's heavily leant in the 3 big clubs favour financially, particularly Real & Barca.

But would be huge if it happened.
Also huge for a quite beloved/"in the community" club, I believe (but you definitely know about this better than me  )?

But aren't Malaga already owned by the royal family of Qatar or something?

They're owned by a Sheikh, who's basically a but of an idiot.

Lost his head when Málaga were knocked out the QF of CL, by Dortmund (both goals were miles offside; as was Julio Baptista's second). Called UEFA Corrupt and they banned Málaga from Europe.

Then basically got caught in a Ponzi scheme thing, where he was scammed put of the club by Blue Bay Resorts (still ongoing, it's very messy), and finally he tried to build a big port in Marbella, and hoped his sway as owner of Málaga would work (he won the tender), but it all fell apart and he spat his dummy out, and Málaga subsequently have ended up on a shoestring string and been relegated to the regionals. (Since came back up thanks to a 127th minute goal).

Qsi established, al-Thani another Qatari billionaire with wise ideas.

I just knew he's a sheikh and he's, uh, not very smart hahah

Thanks for the clarifications mate, appreciated.

In a way, I hope they get a better owner, for the hype they had 10-15 years ago if nothing else (and for the amazing-looking stadium).

On the other hand, it would make them the 2nd sports-washing team in LaLiga, after City Football Group's Girona, right?

I think Almería got taken over by Sheilh Al-Turki, but I'm not sure if he's part of the Sportswashing, or he's just a wealthy Saudi man.

They spent stupidly yoo, bought a fella from Nottingham Forest, Arvin Appiah,m for €11m, based off 4 games. He's had more loans than I can recall from anyone e else, think he's on loan 14.
