Anyone else suffer with it, had it for about 5 weeks now and it's driving me nuts, made a few lifestyle changes but it's not going anywhere so it's probably a trip to the Dr's. I know there is no real cure for it and I don't think I'm losing my hearing it's one of the few things in me that is actually pretty razor sharp normally, just this ringing in my ears is so hard to block out at times.

No. Miracle, that, but I've always been good about the earplugs at concerts. Annoying as all get-out when I do experience it for an hour or so.

My mom has it BAD, and has for decades now.

Had it constantly for about 4/5 years now. There is a trick where if you tap the back of your head with both hands, just below your scull (using just with your fingers - palm is over your ears, you're not trying to smash bells out of it) 20 odd times it does reduce the intensity of the ringing, but it's only temporary.

Do you have a wife/girlfriend?

Hmmmm rings a bell.

No lie or exaggeration .... a teacher I worked with once complained of a ringing in her ears. Another leaned over and put her head close to theirs before saying in all seriousness: "Nope .. I can't hear anything."

There are some dedicated, intelligent vocational people in teaching ... but the rest? Pay peanuts, get monkeys.

I just tried this and it's actually simmered down quite a bit (but not stopped)

It can be linked to anxiety and stress.

I suffered terribly from it years ago when I was going through the wringer in work.

The only way I was able to sleep was by wearing ear buds tuned into barely audible talk radio.

It still comes back from time to time when I`m stressed out for anything length of time.

I have constant ringing due to excessively loud music while wearing headphones - at least I think that's the cause. It only bothers me at night when I am trying to go off to sleep.

Wouldn't surprise me if it was also stress related.
