Time for a laugh, rs buy out yet again

they would have to have a hell of a lot of cash just to buy out and then enough every year to finance the debt and buying of players.

fools.

they need to find 100,000 fans willing to invest £5000 each.

easy find that many fans - but I imagine only a small portion have the wherewithal to invest that much money off the cuff.

Quite a noble ambition to buy your own club - would love to see Everton owned by her own supporters.

Risible now for LFC fans though, as they courted the devil and thought they were going to win everything as a result. It just means the attempt to put the club in the hands of someone who actually gives a [Poor language removed] about the team, is even more difficult and out of their hands now.

They should have thought of this when Hicks et al were trying to buy.

then they could have bought it for £220 million or so. (100,000 fans investing £2200 - harsh but not as bad)

There may be a joke here at Liverpools expense, but it wouldn't be a bad idea to look at this ourselves, now.

What's EFC worth fiscally, £100 million?

(50,000 fans each investing £2000).

Bruce, you've got a head for all this - what do you reckon?

Value of EFC

There are 35,000 shares in issue for Everton FC. I haven't got a recent quote for their price but conservatively they'll be around £1250 and more optimistically £1750.

That puts a valuation between £44 million and £60 million approx. However any buyer - fan group or not - would have to factor in the capital required to move the club forward, and the realistic selling price that the current owners would wish to see.

I can't see BK or Earl or any other major shareholder being a willing seller given where the club are currently and the direction in which we are going.

The Fans United thing had a similar aim, and they recently bought a club in a division below the conference. Barca are effectively run in a similar way, being owned by the clubs members who then elect a board to manage the club for a set period. Of course Barca have the advantage of having an enormous stadium plus huge commercial appeal around the world so can generate their own cash very well. For a club like ourselves with new a new stadium to build plus player funding for 'the next level' it would be that bit harder.

It would, but if the fans could do it, it would avoid what is happening to them across the park.

If it does not happen now or soon, it will never happen as the sums will keep getting higher and higher.

No matter what investments needs, its a [Poor language removed] world whereby one or two people can finance buying something (that doesn't mean a [Poor language removed] to them and they have never personally invested either money - in the form of tickets - or emotion into it) and the thousands upon thousands of fans, cannot.

I think it would be a more successful model for the future to go the barcelona way, than it would hoping some individual with no connection to the club will have our best interests at heart. They will only have their investments at heart.

What would you value Everton at Bruce? (I know that's a difficult one)

It would be a far more viable idea for us I agree but can you imagine rs households across the world, breakfast table 'its like this love, we won't be having a holdiday this year and the new car is cancelled, those bloody kids can make do with last years intendo's' smashing of plates, throwing of knives followed by 'get stuff you stupid sod' life is fun being a blue

All the anti Kenwright brigade should take note.

I take your point, but whether you are pro kenwright or not, ownership by supporters would ensure the heritage, tradition and best interests of our club would be in the hands of people who care about it.

Ownership by the first speculator with a load of money to turn up, is always going to be a huge gamble.

One way or another you are putting your club into the hands of others, whether it is Murdoch or an external investor.

Unless you have a profitable and coherent business model excluding outside subsidies (whether they come from public funds, like the USA, or broadcasters, like they do in Europe) I don't see how you can put the club in the hands of thousands of people who would struggle to buy a share, let alone invest in capital improvements or transfer and wages funds.

There are only a handful of UK clubs that have that type of brand.

I don't think fans owning the clubs is the way forward. We find it hard to stop being fans and doing what is neccessary. Plus, look what would happen if KEIOC managed to mount a successful takeover. We would wallow at Goodison for all eternity.

Just consider this, something Rogan Taylor hasn't, you have a stadium capacity of say 70,000, in all likelihood it will be less, and you are asking 100,000 people to give you £5,000 each but you can't even guarantee them a match ticket....................it is not going to happen, would you pay that much for nothing

So all they need is 100,000 people to stump 5K. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAH!!! They are more delusional than Geordies.
