Like Garner he is just a flat out athlete. He needs to put it together. All the potential in the world. Drives with the ball like Yaya and makes some insane tackles. Maybe just needs some run.

Great tonight. If we're being fair, which we never are as football fans, playing against Newcastle's midfield is a big ask for any young player. He was out of his depth against them, but he helped us boss the game tonight.

The Newcastle CM is exceptionally good. But he looked far more assured tonight.

Every time I see him, I swear he’s getting bigger. He looks stronger than last season and I think we saw tonight how he used his body a lot more to shield the ball. He’s still young and needs matches but is an asset.

Looked much better just sitting deep. I feared with him being on a yellow for so long but he was measured, disciplined and composed with some crucial interceptions late in the game. Shame he now has to sit out the Forest game.

Same for me. Think it’s the first time he’s produced a very good full 90 minutes. He was needed at times tonight too, stopped a few counter attacks. Will miss him as an option Saturday.

Even I was losing a bit of faith after Saturday but he was excellent tonight. Gave us a very good physical presence and used the ball well. Still think there is more to come from him. He looks under massive pressure everytime he plays. If he gets a run and feels settled in a settled organised team I think he will thrive.

Decent today but won't go overboard - consistency is obviously an issue as are lapses in concentration and decisions. Silly yellow, but great tackle(s) the 2nd half, first was a bit shaky.

"There's a player there for sure" is a good shout if this was 2 years earlier. Squad filler for the foreseeable, which isn't a bad thing to have anyway, really.

He's a young player playing in the most competitive part of the pitch so he'll have his ups and downs and it annoys me the stick he gets

Yeah because there's zero finesse to anything he does. Every touch is clumsy, including his fouls.

Maybe went early with that criticism very controlled performance. Can't work out what he is or whether he'll ever be reliable enough to be a regular starter, but his physicality was much needed in that second half.
