Players like Tim on their game are the biggest nightmare of all to play against. They are so awkward to defend because they have just the right amount of ability with loads of strength and pace. Defenders don't know how to deal with this. If we can get him in the right headspace, I think he could be the biggest gem of the lot.

Even my belief in him was beginning to wane but he showed what he can do today. Alcaraz's movement opened things up for us and gave Tim more space and options. We look bad when we ponderously pass the ball side to side and back and it doesn't suit Tim at all. We need to play more forward passes with a quicker tempo.

Did really well with that run into the box for the penalty. A good impact when coming on, and delighted to see him have a good run out.

He's getting lost in the plaudits of changing the game. I thought he was brilliant. Had me terrified that he was holding the ball too long, but he never lost it. Helped us control the midfield and move it forward.

Fun Tim Stat from the Athletic- Everton have won just one of the eight league matches Tim Iroegbunam has started since he joined in summer 2024 — August’s 2-0 success against Brighton & Hove Albion. They have also conceded an average of nearly two goals with him in the side compared to 34 in the 35 games he did not start.

Has left gaps when hes played and needs to improve his positioning.

A bit of a Gana lite really but the same weakness exposes the team.

By headspace I guess you mean read the game and improve his positioning?

Definitely a player there.

He's like Aznou, Dibling and Barry for me.

The game was made for him.

When we play at a high tempo and the crowd are up then the opposition need to be ultra calm or players like him and Alcaraz can do something unexpected and quick / off the cuff.

We were still cut open a few times with him there today and he really needs to improve his awareness.

His risky style of play really worked today given how much they were clearly happy with the draw.

Game suits him when it’s like that, said it before but he’s fine when it’s frenetic and lung-busting intensity.

It’s when he has to concentrate positionally in the quiet moments or play calm passes he lets himself down.

Not sure which way he’ll go, still an interesting player for me. Shows a bit of Moussa Dembele the way he protects the ball sometimes.

Glad he's making progress. I work with a QPR fan who's adamant he'll be a top top player, always mentions him when talking about our results.
