Tim Howard

According to Squawka, Howard is the 5th best keeper in the Premiership, and the suggestion of some people on here of Kasper Schemical is bottom at 32ND.

Think this proves the point the other week when he said some fans don't know enough about goalkeeping to say he has made mistakes.

Think some of you need to apologise to Tim for your ridiculous comments and stick to playing FIFA.

Ah yes, Squawka, that source of reliable football knowledge. I haven't got a clue what those figures actually mean, as they haven't given any indication what the figures stand for or how they're calculated.

Regardless of that, that table ranks Howard above De Gea. This is the same De Gea who's widely regarded as the best keeper in the league, has conceded fewer goals than any other keeper (half as many as Howard) and is the main reason a mediocre Man U team are in the top 4.

This is conclusive proof that you can't judge a keeper by stats. In Howard's case, his main weakness, failing to come for crosses when he should, isn't possible to measure because it's subject to personal opinion, so that further undermines any stats the pro-Howard camp want to flag up.
