Tim Howard

He is right though DD, for some reason he was too far right and the header is bang central. Even if Tim was central he still would have missed it though ;)
For some reason? He was "too far right" because the ball was crossed from the right. His positioning was the same as every goalkeeper you'll ever see in that situation. The ball was crossed to the middle and he didn't have time to get to the middle of the goal before the header went past him, same as every goal you'll ever see from a cross.

I can't even imagine the rage levels here if Howard had stayed in the middle of the goal when Daniels had the ball and Daniels had shot it near post for the winner.

Howard blaming the fans I see.

He can leave. Right now. Had enough of him. Sub-par performances from him for years, a few clean sheets and all of a sudden he thinks he's off the hook?

Sure, the fans were the reason that there was extra time added on. The fans weren't, however, the reason why the goals went in the net. That's his department. The cheek of that sod.

Neville Southall probably won us about 15 points for the 85 and 87 titles.

Just saying like.
Hey, I'm not saying great teams and great keepers are mutually exclusive. They certainly help. So does having a great striker, or a great midfield, or great wingers, or great defenders. Very few teams can manage to have world class players at all eleven positions, though.

Your opinion mate. Entitled to it. My opinion he was too far right. Entitled to it.

Agreed mate, very few teams do have world class players in every position . Most teams with aspirations of doing something have a decent keeper though.

Unfortunately we've got a bang average one who has cost us points and struggles to win us points when the chance presents itself. He was superb against Spurs away though and that was a point gained and I've already mentioned I thought his block against Villa was superb. It's a shame 80% of the time he's absolute bollocks.

I have mentioned many a time though he's been a cracking signing for the money we paid and had great service from him. Just time for him to sod off imo but that's not his choice as our Bobby loves him.

clock stops when ball hits net.

he should watch what he says given that he has to stand in front of the fans cos I don't reckon he'll take what they're prepared to give him very well at all, he'll be twitchin' all over the show, next mistake and he may as well pack his bags, you get the impression though that he doesn't seem to think he's to blame for a single goal he's conceded.

We agree that it's time for him to be replaced in the first team. I'm not sure he should be sold; I don't think we could get any decent money for him and he still would be a decent backup next season, especially if Joel gets loaned out. Goalkeeper should definitely be our top priority in the transfer market next summer, though.

Not Tims fault though, players and manager take the blame yesterday but a top keeper probably keeps that header out and wins us the 3 points but I wouldn't have expected Howard to save that so I'm not going to blame him. Apart from the flap at an invisible pigeon in the first half he was solid yesterday up to that 3rd goal part and he was solid against Villa.
Nice one mate

Makes me laugh how even thought he got nowhere near a cross in the 1st half that stones had to clear off the line
And their 3rd goal being bang centre in our net

But all his followers praising him because apparently he had a solid game and didn't make any errors

I think that tells us all we need to know and what most of us have known for years

Just on Twitter and Howard apparently has blamed the fans for the 3rd goal

Let's hope the butland rumours are true

Yep I don't think we would get any money for him either. I think this season will.definitely be his last with us though and he will go back to America for a year

Was waiting for that
He was only ever going to cross that ball and Howard should have been positioned better

Go and find di Maria's goal for Man Utd last season
He's on his post and the ball is on the edge of the box
It's squared to di Maria on the penalty spot and he scores

At 1st I thought it went in the corner but the reply showed it went into the centre of the net
With Howard nowhere

I'm sure you will make an excuse for him though

3-2 up and the opposition get one last chance from a header
Do you want it to go top corner or the centre of the goal

Centre of the goal please striker
Oh

Haven't heard anything about the Butland rumours but if it was true I would be delighted with him.

Big difference playing for a yard dog nothing club like Stoke and someone like us but he would do well imo.

I'd still like to think Robles could do it but don't think he will be given a long enough run of games ( 8-12 imo ) where he can stake his claim.

Hopefully Robles puts in another top drawer performance against Boro Tuesday though like he did against Norwich.

Go find any goal that comes from a cross past the center. Every time, you'll see the keeper desperately lunging back towards the center of the goal after being on his near post. Sometimes they'll get lucky and the attacker will head it right at them, but most of the time all the attacker has to do is put the ball somewhere on frame and it's a goal.

Once that cross finds Stanislas, all any goalkeeper can do is pray that he gets lucky.

Sorry have to disagree
While all keepers will be on the right post when a cross is coming in form the left

And they quickly have to get across their goal
They should be saving or at worst getting a hand on anything central
And Howard did neither

How many times have your heard forward on TV analysing saying head it back where the keeper has come from

If Stanislas had put it in the top corner then fair enough
But he didn't

We had 2 headers from corners in the 1st half
Lukaku's was central and saved
Mori's top corner went in
