He could well be Joe but in an age when premiership u21's players can get payed more then the yearly wage of your average "Joe" it's only fair a veteran international goalkeeper of Howard's standing can expect that sort of money mate.
If it was fair Doug he would have been dropped a while a go , and straight after the league cup game I have seen better Keepers than him dropped tha him Doug - Gordon West for Andy Rankin!

It's not about Howard's ability at this point of his Everton career Joe it's about Robles lack of ability.

If there was a better option at the club they'd be playing mate.

The one thing Martinez has over most managers is faith in young and inexperienced players. He's clearly got none in Robles, and I can understand why myself having seen him play many times.

The clue is in your statement. "There always has to be one player who gets the abuse". Perhaps they shouldn't be so rubbish? "Barry and Barkley have done better this season" That will be why they're getting plaudits then.

Take your American eye patch off and acknowledge that he's playing awful, he's been on and off in the past, and the only reason he's being called awful is because the damn shoe fits.
I'm not American and I want him dropped, I'm just tired of people banging on about it. We get it. Let's hope Bobby buys a world class keeper in January but I wouldn't hold my breath. I like the look of Randolph

Yeah, I guess I just don't get why there's the big leap from "below average and needs to be replaced" (which is a reasonable view) to "worst goalkeeper ever and a disgrace to the club". I feel like there are people here who are actively rooting for him to let in soft goals so they can validate their opinions. They'd rather hate a man than see the club do well, and it's just strange.

I think you're putting words in people's mouths there, mate. I don't think anyone on here has said he's the worst keeper ever and a disgrace to the club. People are just frustrated because it's been clear to many of us that Howard has been poor or, at best, below average for the past 18 months.

It's not Howard's fault that Martinez keeps picking him. The fault lies squarely with Martinez for not addressing the problem last summer and signing a better keeper. I don't think Robles is the long term answer, but I personally would be picking him ahead of Howard, at the moment.

Think this is the only part of your post that could be deemed inaccurate, as he's been poor for the best part of about 4 years now. The 12/13 season was his worst for us in my opinion in terms of mistakes and general clownish behaviour, closely followed by last season

13/14 was arguably his best.

Not disagreeing with 12/13 or 14/15.
