Tim Howard

Made it easy for Rooney for the 3rd goal. Not much chance with first two goals I'd say. My problem with him is that he doesn't make many crucial saves like other keepers do (even Mignolet). He made a very good save at Southampton when it was 0-0 and we go on to win the game. Needs more of that, but sadly time is against him. New keeper required for next season.
Someone said "he kept the score at 0-3" (save from Rooney?). That may have been tongue in cheek, but even so thats my point. 0-4 or 0-3 so what? Its at 0-0 or 0-1 its needed.

Absolutely, and that happens rather a lot. A great save from your keeper often spurs the lads on. Just look at Spurs vs City a couple of weeks ago. Lloris makes 2 incredible saves, Spurs grab one before half time then go on to smash them. If that's Howard in goal, they're buried before half time, game over.

Got no time for him, needs shipping out to the MLS this summer.

What do you want him to say? 'I'm absolutely sick of the god bothering annoyance diving out the way of the ball, I can't be arsed with him anymore?'
He knows, if we all know then you can guarantee Bob knows.
To be honest an bin him he is useless.
Manage the situation an put joel in

He's a liability at the minute. He's perfected the diving in the opposite direction to the goal bound effort in recent weeks.

We should have skipped him in the summer, massive mistake. We need a replacement ASAP, and it isn't Robles

Its not robles but its all we have mate.
Martinez has had 6 windows to sort the keeper situation.
Martinez has improved from last season but keeping howard is rank bad management

During his time with us, there gave been days when he's been very, very good. Mostly he has been competent or slightly better, but over the last eighteen months - since that game in the World Cup - he has been mostly disappointing and at times unbelievably poor.

Overall, he's been good and fortunate mostly to have had a reasonably decent defence in front of him.

However, he has never, ever commanded his area and in particular the six yard box in the manner of a Gordon West and certainly nothing even remotely close to Big Nev and for that failing alone, he slips down the list of 'great' Everton goalies.

Joel Robles might not be the right replacement, so the scouting staff better pull their fingers out and prioritise finding us a new keeper and then the powers that be need to make it happen early next summer (if not before), as we cannot go into another season fearful of our last line of defence.

I think Martinez has prioritised the outfield and much the same with Distin has relied on getting one more season out of Howard.

Snag is whilst Distin once once good...Howard has never been more than average at best and whilst we have some amazing talent now we look really week in goal.

Butland,Karius or another player to compliment Stones/Barkley/Lukaku spine...

We missed a trick not going for Butland when Stoke did. That was the time he was available, and even though he had to wait a couple of years to get into the Stoke team, he was theirs and continuing his development, so when Begovic then left, he was ready to come in with no drama.

Im sick of every game feeling like Howard has cost us. The worst thing is that he is obviously the weak link, and having a terrible keeper affects the whole defence and the rest of the team, because they dont trust him. Every keeper makes mistakes, and you can forget about it when its a one off or once or twice a season. Howard costs us on a weekly basis. The goals we have conceded the last 2 seasons are unforgiveable. And this season has been exactly the same. West Brom and Liverpool scoring free headers in the 6 yard box, Nasri actually having the time and space to bloody chip him in the 6 yard box, falling over for Rooney yesterday, constantly putting defenders under pressure with stupid throw outs like West Brom's first, its too much.

The thing that annoys me the most, instead of actually dropping the waster and giving Joel a go (even to just give Howard a kick up the backside) he wrecks the rest of the team by focussing on defence at the expense of what we're actually good at. Persisting with Naismith and Lennon playing as almost extra full backs, leaving out Kone and Deulofeu yesterday because he doesnt trust them to defend, whatever the hell his beef with Mirallas is. All of it because we 'need' to protect our defence. Just drop Howard FFS. He is the disease. Its no coincidence that once Joel played a run of games and not just the odd cup tie last season, the whole defence improved because they trusted the man behind them. Not one of that defence has any trist in Howard any more.

He's not absolute garbage, far from it.
Doug is that another phrase of he is the only keeper we have? Maybe Robles is too raw as yet or not up to it , but as someone stated he can learn you can't teach an old dog new tricks or his body is not up to it.
Yet in his defence all the posters after yesterday can not blame him for the defeat as I blame the ten in front of him bar a few, we could have had a top world class Keeper in yesterday and UNT would have scored at will I even feel they took their foot off the gas - lets hope it was just a bad day at the office, and it was worse by the sad news of the great HK death before the game.
We were out thought by their Manager and sadly outplayed!

We could have and should have got Butland for virtually nowt off B'ham.

Yes but it was DM, and lets not forget letting Ruddy go to a Scottish club for next to nothing all because to preserve TH position in the team - maybe Butland seen that and showed no interest to come - When an employee my old boss gave me sound advice never wait for a position as it may never come!

Yes he is Dougie he's an absolute liability every game .Watch him week in week out home and away sorry mate hot no words left to say on this matter. If he does anything next week at the Arse i might just tun on the pitch and knock him out Im that pi$$ed with him.

Saved us from getting a bit of drumming yesterday, could and should have been 4/5 but thankfully he kept them out, doesnt exactly fit with the idea he's garbage but carry on with your delusion if you need a scapegoat to get over a very poor performance.
