so Howard backing his manager is a disgrace?

makes no sense

Is he backing him? To me he could just be pointing out that Eveton are not changing the style and staying with the Martinez style of play. This style has partly led to Howards downfall and finished him at Everton and whoever replaces him isnt going to find it easy either.

Nobody after Neville Southall is going to find it easy.

In today's Sunday Time's Jonathan Northcroft writes that Tim Howard is one of Football's men of the year.

Behind paywall so no link

To be fair the article starts with the WC but quickly moves on to Howard's relationship with Martinez and talks about how he has transformed his understanding of the game.

Interesting read tbh

In agreement with a few recent posters here, I'd like to see Joel get a fair few games to properly judge, albeit that what we've seen so far hasn't inspired too much confidence.

Big fan of Howard's, but he's been far too poor this season. After his amazing display in the World Cup I knew it was gonna turn out like this because, you know, it's Everton.

Robles will need games to build up that confidence, but i'm not sure coming into a team with a severe lack of confidence is good for anyone.

I remember De Gea coming over and was ripped apart by the press, but after a couple of seasons he is one of the top keepers in the world, now i'm not saying that will be the case will Robles but give him a chance especially when the 1st choice has been awful for a while.

Which is why I hoped we would sign a decent back up towards the end of his career over the summer, then sent Robles out on a season long loan.

He needs to play week in week out, only then can he be judged.
