But eventhough he was scoring we were playing utterly gash.
Exactly.
Timmy was ace, but we as a whole were the opposite. And at the end of the day it's a team game.

I love Tim too, but as I've said before, I don't want him playing if it detracts from the actual team.
Without him this season we've played better stuff, and got better results. Sure, he scored a lot, but how many of them were in wins?
We need to figure out how to incorporate him into a formation that can get results, otherwise we're doing ourselves no favours by playing him.
This isn't his fault, mind. He'll try his best wherever he's played. It's Moyes; resorting back to the formation that did us no good for half a season, as soon as Timmy is half fit.

Hmm we were playing reasonable football, but we weren't scoring. There has to be a place for Cahill in the side, we just need to adapt the system to allow us to be more flexible.
It's not reasonable football if you're not scoring. You don't get points for possession, or the amount of sideways passes you make. It was ineffective, and thus, poor football.
Finishing is one element of the game. Our approach play was good and we were pegging teams back, but we couldn't finish them off. Saha has broken his long drought since then and Beckford has started to find his feet. If we were to play the games again the outcome might be different.
Saha's drought ended because we changed formation, to 4-4-2 with him alongside Beckford. They both bagged a lot of goals in that period.
But Saha went 11 months without scoring in a 4-5-1.
I agree with you that 4-5-1 limits us. I think that we need to accommodate Cahill in a formation that also brings out the best in other players.

Cahill will score today. That is a fact
*if he plays
its got nothing to do with him not playing well .he is carrying an injuryNo No No. A player must always support his team. Giving him special treatment to leave the team to return home and it will only isolate him. A team will only play well when its players play well with each other. And no player is above the team. So Keep him around and let him support the club that he loves.
If he plays, he plays. If he doesn't than at least he knows that he is there to support the players that do. But don't send him back to Australia because he's not playing well. He'll come around. Its a whole summer till next season's kick off.
