Should have posted this yesterday, had a chat with Kenwright as he went into the ground yesterday, whilst eating my hot dog :P

He announced to a few of us that Tim Cahill had just signed a new contract but conflicting news on the web site today suggests he is "close"

Whats that all about ?

Yep was on sky sports news just. Quite chuffed about it actually. He was proper rubbish most of this season but towards the end looked ace again.

My favorite Cahill quote:

he third round of that season's FA Cup drew Cahill's former club, Millwall against Everton at The New Den. He scored the winner in the replay at Goodison Park, but chose not to celebrate his winning goal, stating, " I decided not to go mad and just pay my respects to the club that gave me my start in the game. To celebrate would have been a kick in the teeth, it is all about respect

Someone told me at the match that he said he wants to stay at Everton and finish his career here.

apparantly he announced this at the players awards night at the catherdral.

might need someone to confirm though. just what i heard.

Yeah he really had to up his game to get in the Aussie squad. I reckon they would pick him with only half a leg.

Him gettin in the squad was never in question...too me it appeared that he paced himself throughout the season...the WC always (in my eyes) was his main over-riding priority

Good news really, he can be ace when on form. I think over the course of them four years we'll probably see him becoming less and less of an automatic pick but nothing races the pulse like him banging a header in from nowhere.
