He is copping it in Australia for the following reasons:
1) He has always said he will only play in the A-League if there is vision and a chance to leave a legacy. Most Aussies see through this as what Timmy really means is that he will only play if the $$ is right
2) After saying the above he went and played in China
3) He is playing for Melbourne City, bankrolled by the same CFG that own Citeh. They are doing good things but ultimately can't escape the fact that they can only owe thier current success to the $$ that have come in. Joining Melbourne City confirmed what alot of Aussies thought about Tim.
4) He markets himself to stupid levels and his social media presence can be too much.
Ultimately however the booing is only as long as he is in a Melbourne City shirt. When he puts on the Socceroos kit again the same fans will cheer him and thats how he will be remembered by them.
