Really don't like the stance the owner has taken here.

Before the police have confirmed the details he has come out and basically said the girl was an idiot. The fact he refuses to close the park for any amount of time as a mark of respect is eyebrow raising.

I think there is more to this story and there might have been a perfect storm of poor procedures being followed. The ultra fast denial of any wrong-doing and the attack on the victim says guilty conscience and trying to shift the blame to me.

She had no reason to be in the enclosure at that time apparently.

I've seen a few whispers of a suicide attempt. Not saying it was, could be a possibility though.

All due respect to the girls family, but it's a tiger ffs, every time you go near one it's a lottery.
Even when reared from small it only takes one moment of inattention to the always changing alien body language, some of it barely above, to us, subliminal; tiger equivalent of Oi, You, No! and this could be a quarter seconds worth of raised eyebrow or similar and it's ...well I warned you...Chomp.
